What is a state? and HOW to stay faithful to it?

„State” is definitely the most basic term in Neville’s teachings. It’s impossible to get his message right without understanding well what a state is. So today we’re gonna cover that.

What is a state?

“A state is an attitude of mind, a state of experience with a body of beliefs which you live by. Always expressing a state, you identify yourself with it by saying: “I am poor or I am rich. I am known or I am unknown. I am wanted or I am unwanted.” – Neville Goddard in “Infinite states”

“A state is an attitude of mind (…) with a body of beliefs that you live by.” What does it mean?
A state is who/ what you are.
A state is your identity.
A state is who do you think you are.
A state is your essence.

The state is not an emotion!!! The common mistake people make is confusing those two things. That makes you stay away from your results. Look at this graph. A state is a pretty complex thing:

States in real life

All of us are in many, many states at the same time. Here are just some of mine:
amazed devoted partner
cooking enthusiast
proud plant keeper
proud loving mom
successful business owner
and so on.

Not all of them are visible in my material reality at this time when I write that post. For example, I don’t have kids at this moment. But it doesn’t matter. I will have them by persisting in my state, by staying faithful to my unseen reality.

“You can satisfy self by appropriating the feeling that you are what you want to be. And this assumption though false, that is, although reason and the senses deny it, if persisted in will harden into fact.” – Neville Goddard in „Assumptions Harden Into Fact”

It’s not exactly you who manifests. It’s your state hardening into fact.

How to manifest?

Know that your consciousness is the only reality. Then know what you want to be. Then assume the feeling of being that which you want to be, and remain faithful to your assumption, living and acting on your conviction. Always make it fit that pattern.” – Neville Goddard in “Consciousness Is The Only Reality”

I’ll write exactly the same in four easy steps:

STEP ONE to successful manifesting: Pick your state – identity. Label yourself. If you want to manifest a car – your state is a car owner. If you want to get pregnant – your state is a mom. Choose your own adjectives to that.
STEP TWO: Construct a scene that implies you are who you want to be. Choose one random event from your everyday life, something ordinary.
STEP THREE: Experience your scene in imagination until you are self-persuaded that this is true and you are who you choose to be.
STEP FOUR: Stay faithful to your unseen reality.

How to stay faithful to your desired state?

That’s the most common question. How to stay faithful to your wish fulfilled when your reality denies it? First of all, know that in the beginning, your material reality will always deny it. That’s the reason why you’re manifesting your desire. That’s the reason you have that desire in the first place. So know that your material reality must deny your desire being real. It’s totally normal and ok.

Second thing – accept the principle as non-negotiable, – What you assume as true becomes true.

“Whatsoever you desire, believe you have received it and you will.” – Neville Goddard in “Believe in it”

Some assumptions are easier to accept, others less… But only at the beginning. There’s one way to make yourself bulletproof and doubt free forever. ..And it’s a super nice thing to do!
This secret trick is…

!!! Play a lot. Make it your way of life. Every time you notice you have a desire, a wish, you simply want something, anything – assume it as true. Use those teachings for everything. Literally everything. Having pasta for dinner. Losing 2 kilograms. Having new friends. Having longer hear. Getting free coffee and cake. Literally everything. Don’t leave any desire, any wish for itself. Always assume it’s already done. !!!

Don’t look for signs!

The true method of knowledge is through experiment. So we invite you to experiment. The true faculty of knowing is the faculty of experiencing. For, when you have had the experiences, you no longer care whether anyone else knows it or not. It does not matter. You know it, and you know that you know it” – Neville Goddard in “The seven eyes of God”

Only your own experience will give you a true understanding of how does it really works. Practise will make you a master. And it will be the best and the most pleasant exercising in your lifetime!

Third thing: Don’t look for signs. Don’t look for the confirmation n the outside. Your consciousness is the only reality – what is real and done in your mind – will be real and done in your material reality. But don’t look for that. Always the more you look the more it’s not there
Simply feel it’s done. (Here I highly recommend you to read my article „What does Neville mean by feeling”.)
